Apologies

When Sorry Isn't Enough

About This Product

Apologies is a card-and-peg board game for 4 players — built around teams of two, but tactical enough to keep everyone on their toes. You and your teammate work together to move all your pegs, and then all of theirs, into the finish spaces before the other team does.

Each round, hands of cards are dealt and teammates secretly exchange one card before play begins. On your turn you must play a card if you legally can — most cards simply move you forward by their face value. A handful carry special abilities you can choose to use instead: a 4 can move you backwards, a 7 lets you split movement across multiple pegs, a Jack swaps your peg with anyone else's on the board, a King can pass opponents and send them home. The strategy often comes down to whether using the special ability helps or hurts — and sometimes when the face value isn't a legal move, you're forced into the ability whether you want it or not.

The catch: you have to play if you can. If your teammate is 5 spaces ahead and a 5 is your only legal move, you're sending them back to start. Friendly fire isn't a choice — it's just part of the game.

  • Suitable for players 8 and up — more relaxed with younger players, much more intense when everyone's thinking strategically.
  • Variants available for 2, 3, and 6 players, plus a Battle Royale mode where every player is on their own.
  • Travel-sized with a built-in storage compartment on the underside, so pegs and cards stay together between games.
  • No paper rulebook — two QR codes printed directly on the board link to the rules page.
  • Available in several color themes, with fully custom color options on request.
